The Cultural Association Centro Selva Arte y Ciencia was created in 2012 with the mission of providing an expansive and biodiverse space for education, research, and cultural activities in art and science in the Central Amazon Region of Peru. The Centre offers these activities to individuals, groups of artists, and the public.
The programs they provide are very personal and focus on a familial atmosphere. Their main activities are international artist residency programs where multidisciplinary artists stay and experience the region’s culture while creating art, ultimately exhibiting and presenting it in Pucallpa and Lima. Since 2012 Centro Selva has welcomed artists from all corners of the world.
Diana Riesco-Lind is currently the president and founder of the centre; her academic background is in digital media and the influences of Art of the Shipibo Konibo Community on contemporary Amazonian art. She came to Peru with the idea of developing these concepts in her home region.
Diana’s artistic projects in general reconnect people with themselves and others through their personal connection with the earth. Her intention is to unleash and create memorable moments around the things that unite us as human beings.

The centre is currently accepting applications for residencies from any artists over 21 with experience and a good command of English or Spanish. This is a really exciting opportunity to broaden your cultural horizons as an artist! Find more info here; the residency is expected to begin in July 2022, and applications remain open until the 30th of November 2021. You can also inquire about individual residences, where an artist or a group of artists stays for a number of days at any other time of year.

La Asociación Cultural Centro Selva Arte y Ciencia fue creada en 2012 con la misión de proporcionar un espacio amplio y biodiverso para la educación, la investigación y las actividades culturales en arte y ciencia en la región de la Amazonía central del Perú. El Centro ofrece estas actividades a individuos, grupos de artistas y al público.
Los programas ofrecidos son muy personales y se centran en un ambiente familiar. Sus principales actividades son los programas de residencias artísticas internacionales donde artistas multidisciplinarios se hospedan y experimentan la cultura de la región mientras crean arte, para finalmente exponerlo y presentarlo en Pucallpa y Lima. Desde 2012, el Centro Selva ha recibido a artistas de todos los rincones del mundo.

La Asociación Cultural Centro Selva Arte y Ciencia acepta actualmente solicitudes de residencia de cualquier artista mayor de 21 años con experiencia y que domine el inglés o el español. Se trata de una oportunidad realmente emocionante para ampliar los horizontes culturales como artista. Encuentre más información aquí; se espera que la residencia comience en julio de 2022, y las solicitudes permanecen abiertas hasta el 30 de noviembre de 2021. También puede informarse sobre las residencias individuales, en las que un artista o un grupo de artistas se aloja durante un número de días en cualquier otro momento del año.
